It was the usual thing, he called her names, most of the time it was ‘Froggy’, because of her appearance. When she finally went quiet, she looked up at him, expectantly.
He had very mixed emotions about how he would respond.
Despite this, he couldn’t ignore the fact that he didn’t have a daughter.
